SportRxiv is the first community led preprint server dedicated to sport and exercise related research. As an interdisciplinary area, SportRxiv accepts submissions from those working in all aspects of the disciplines of sport and exercise science (also known as kinesiology and movement science), sport and exercise studies, rehabilitation and therapy, through to theatre, dance, and performance studies. Sub-disciplines include biomechanics, development and management, history, philosophy, physiology, physiotherapy, psychology, and sociology — to name a few. These sub-disciplines are represented by a range of societies, approximately 1,000 journals, which collectively produce around 10,000 peer reviewed articles per year. Since its inception in early 2017 and launch in August, SportRxiv has amassed a strong multi-national steering board with representatives for each discipline and are developing broad following globally.
